DBIA New York City Region Designers’ Committee, chaired by Grace Lin, AIA, CDT, DBIA (Turner & Townsend), organized an evening moderated panel discussion at AECOM’s offices. Attendance was between 80 to 100.  DBIA NYC Metro Committee member George J. Murillo, RA, DBIA, NCARB, a VP of AECOM, facilitated an insightful conversation with Joy Sinderbrand from NYCHA Capital Programs, Michele Basic Moore from NYCHA CompMod Program, Jenny Gillette from New York City Public Housing Preservation Trust and Matthew Charney from NYCHA RED/PACT Program. The panel discussed how NYCHA is using design-build and alternative delivery models to execute design and construction projects with innovative, sustainable and efficient solutions for the benefit of its residents and the New York City community. It was a lively discussion topic and our presenters from NYCHA and PHPT gave a very good overview of NYC agency’s programs and their involvement in Design-Build. They presented some of the criteria for evaluating projects and programs that they procure as D-B. Really good questions and discussion with the audience. Columbia University DBIA Student chapter helped with registration desk. Attendees received 1 CEH Students learned alongside practitioners.
