Design-Build Challenges of Getting to Contract: The Designers’ Experience

Construction project delivery methods dictate how project stakeholders interact throughout the design and construction phases. The development of Design Build, which melds together the design and construction phases under a single contract, changes how owners, contractors, and designers have previously interfaced.

Getting to Ink: the Designer’s perspective is the first part of a multi-session series where Designers, Design Builders and Owners discuss issues and concerns when negotiating design build contracts. This program will focus on the issues that are most troublesome for the Designer and how these issues are addressed. Through a moderated discussion of industry professionals, the group will share thoughts on the most prevalent pitfalls and mitigations of design build process.
